Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 November 2026 · Version 1.6
These Terms are the agreement between you and Atlas ("Atlas Assistant", "we", "us"), the operator of the Atlas Assistant service at https://assistant.atlassstudio.com. Please read them. Sections 5, 6, 13 and 14 matter most: they explain that the assistant acts on your computer at your instruction, that AI output can be wrong, and how far our responsibility goes.
1. What Atlas Assistant is
Atlas Assistant is a personal AI assistant that you talk to in a messaging app on your phone (WhatsApp or Telegram). It has two ways of working. Your account can use either or both.
- Answered by our server ("server mode"). When your chat is answered by our server, the AI model that answers you (Claude, made by Anthropic) runs through our account with Anthropic. We send it your message, the recent conversation and your assistant's memory notes so that it can answer. We pay for that AI use as part of the service, within the limits of your plan.
- Answered on your own computer ("own-computer mode"). You install the
ella-connectorsoftware on your computer and sign it in to your own AI engine: Claude Code (Anthropic) or, where we offer it, Codex (OpenAI). Your messages pass through our server to your computer and your own engine answers. In this mode the AI is under your own account and your own agreement with its provider; we do not run it and do not pay for it.
The service has these parts: the website and account at https://assistant.atlassstudio.com; the Atlas Assistant chat on WhatsApp and Telegram; and, for own-computer mode, the connector.
You are talking to an AI, not to a person. Atlas Assistant is an independent product. Our staff do not take part in your conversations, and open your stored conversation or memory only in the cases described in the Privacy Policy.
In these Terms "your engine", "your Claude" and "your assistant" mean the AI that answers you, whichever mode and engine is used. Sections 4 and 5 (your own engine and the actions on your computer) apply to own-computer mode.
2. Agreeing to these Terms
By creating an account, installing the connector or using the bot, you agree to these Terms and confirm you have read the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Atlas Assistant.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. Atlas Assistant is not intended for children.
3. Your account, your key, your devices
3.1 Give accurate sign-up details and keep them current. One person per account.
3.2 Your Atlas Assistant key connects your computer to your account. Treat it like a password. Anyone who has your key, your unlocked phone, or access to your Telegram account may be able to reach your computer through the service. You are responsible for keeping them secure, and for everything done through your account, key, paired Telegram account and computer.
3.3 Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account or key has been compromised. You can cut the link yourself at any time: send /lock or /unpair to the bot, press Disconnect on the dashboard, or run ella unpair on your computer.
4. What you must bring: your own AI engine
4.1 Atlas Assistant only works with an engine that you have installed yourself, unmodified, and signed in to with your own account or credentials with its provider: Anthropic for Claude Code or, where Atlas Assistant offers it, OpenAI for Codex. We never ask for, receive or store your Anthropic or OpenAI login, API key or session.
4.2 Your use of your engine and of its provider's models is governed by your agreement with that provider: Anthropic's terms of service and usage policy for Claude Code, or OpenAI's terms of use and usage policies for Codex. Its usage limits and prices also apply. You are responsible for complying with them and for any charges. If your provider limits, suspends or changes your access, Atlas Assistant may stop working for you, and that is outside our control.
4.3 Atlas Assistant is an independent product. It is not made by, affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Telegram or Google. "Claude" and "Claude Code" are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC; "ChatGPT" and "Codex" are trademarks of OpenAI; other names belong to their owners.
5. The assistant acts on your computer — and you are its operator
5.1 Depending on the permission level you choose, your Claude may read, create, change and delete files, run commands, browse the web, send messages and use any tool or service connected to it on your computer. It does so because you, or someone using your Telegram account, sent it a message.
5.2 You are the operator of your own installation. You choose the permission level (chat, files, ask or full), which folder it may touch, what is connected to it, and what you ask it to do. The level is set and enforced on your computer, not by us. You are solely responsible for the consequences of actions your assistant takes, including irreversible ones such as deleting or overwriting data, sending messages, making purchases or changing settings.
5.3 About ask. At ask, risky actions are sent to your Telegram for you to allow or deny. Approving an action — or allowing everything for a period — is your decision and your responsibility.
5.3A About full: you take full and sole responsibility. At full, a text message can make your Claude run any command on your computer, as you, with no confirmation: delete or change files, install software, send data, or spend money through accounts you are signed in to. Anyone holding your unlocked phone effectively holds your computer. full is never the default; it can be switched on only after the connector shows you this warning and you expressly accept it. By choosing full you accept full and sole responsibility for everything your Claude does on your computer and for any resulting loss or damage, to you or to anyone else. We only relay your messages; we do not review, approve or control those actions and, to the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for them, except as set out in the last sentence of section 14.1 and in section 14.3. If you want to approve each risky action first, choose ask.
5.3B Your consent record. The connector keeps a tamper-evident record on your own computer (~/.ella/consent.log) of the permission level you chose, the warning you accepted, the Telegram account you approved, and each action you allowed or denied. It is never sent to us. Separately, your computer tells our server the name of the permission level you selected (never what your Claude did), and we keep that record as described in the Privacy Policy. You agree that the consent record, our record of the permission level you selected, and our server's log of approval events may be used as evidence of what you chose and approved.
5.4 AI agents make mistakes. They can misunderstand an instruction, act on misleading content they read (a web page, an email, a file), or do more than you intended. The approval step reduces this risk; it does not remove it. Section 8 of the Privacy Policy also explains what the approval step can and cannot protect against.
5.5 Keep independent backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Atlas Assistant is not a backup service.
5.6 Do not rely on Atlas Assistant for anything where failure or delay could cause death, injury, or serious physical, financial or environmental damage. Reminders and proactive messages may be late or may not arrive at all.
6. AI output: no accuracy promise, no professional advice
6.1 Everything your assistant says is generated by a third-party AI model running under your own account with your engine's provider (Anthropic or OpenAI). It may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, biased or entirely made up, including facts, figures, quotations, code and summaries — and it may sound confident when it is wrong.
6.2 Check anything important before you rely on it, especially before any legal, financial, medical, safety or business decision.
6.3 Atlas Assistant does not give professional advice — not legal, medical, psychological, financial, investment, tax, accounting or insurance advice. Nothing it says creates a professional relationship or replaces a qualified professional.
6.4 We do not review, control or endorse AI output, and we do not promise that it is original or that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
7. Acceptable use
You will not use Atlas Assistant to:
- break the law, or violate the usage policies of your engine's provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) or Telegram's terms;
- access or control any computer, account or data that you are not authorised to use — you may connect only computers that are yours or that you have permission to control;
- harass, stalk, defraud or harm anyone, or send spam;
- probe, attack, overload or get around the security, plan limits or rate limits of the service, or reach another user's account or computer;
- resell the service, share one account between several people, or build a competing service from our software.
8. Plans, trial, voice, payment, cancellation and refunds
8.1 Plans. Atlas Assistant offers a free plan (Free) and paid monthly plans (Starter, Plus, Pro). What each plan includes, for example the number of messages per month, is shown on the pricing page and applied by the service. When you reach your plan's limit, relaying pauses until the next period or until you move to a bigger plan. A "message" is one thing you ask your assistant; replies and reminders are not counted.
8.1A Free trial. Every new account gets, in addition to Free, 14 days of our Plus plan from the day the account opens (for an account that joined a waiting list, from the day we accept it; for an account that existed before the trial was introduced, from the day the trial was introduced). At the end of the 14 days the account returns to Free automatically. The trial costs nothing, needs no payment card, and never turns into a paid plan by itself: you are charged only if you choose a paid plan yourself and agree to its price. The trial is one per person. Opening further accounts, or deleting an account and opening a new one, to get a new trial is not allowed, and we may refuse or end such a trial. The trial does not include built-in voice (8.1B).
8.1B Voice. Built-in voice (voice notes and phone calls, using our own ElevenLabs account) is not part of any plan. It is available only to accounts that we approve personally, whatever their plan (trial, Free or paid). Everyone else, on the trial, Free or a paid plan, may connect your own ElevenLabs key at no charge from us; the voice service is then provided by ElevenLabs under your own agreement with it, and ElevenLabs bills you directly. We do not promise voice minutes with any plan, and we may approve, change or withdraw approval for built-in voice at our discretion.
8.2 Payment. Online payment is not open yet. Until it is, paid plans are available only by arrangement with us. When payment opens, before you pay you will be shown: the price in shekels (NIS), whether it includes tax, the billing date, how often it renews, and how to cancel. Paid plans renew each month until you cancel. Payment is taken by a payment processor, named at checkout; we do not receive your full card number. You will get a receipt for each payment by email. Prices do not include your own costs from other providers (such as ElevenLabs or your internet).
8.3 Cancelling a paid plan. You can cancel at any time, at no cost beyond what the law allows, in any of these ways: (a) press Cancel plan on your dashboard (Account → Plan), which needs no call, no email and no reason; (b) email [email protected]; (c) write to postal address provided on request; (d) any other way the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981 gives you. We confirm each cancellation by email. The plan ends within 3 business days of your notice, and you are not charged for any later period; if the law or your plan gives you the paid-for period to the end, you keep access until then. If you cancel, your account goes back to Free; your data stays until you delete the account.
8.4 Your legal cancellation and refund rights. If you are a consumer in Israel: (a) you may cancel an online purchase within 14 days of the purchase, or of receiving the written details of the transaction, whichever is later; (b) you may cancel an ongoing service at any time; and (c) if you cancel under (a) we refund the payment within 14 days of your notice, less a cancellation fee of no more than the lower of 5% of the price or NIS 100, and a proportionate charge for the part of the service you already used. We charge no fee, and no deduction, where the law does not allow one. The refund goes back by the same means of payment. Consumers in other countries keep any cancellation rights their own mandatory law gives them. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
8.5 Price and plan changes. We may change prices or plan contents. For paid plans we give at least 30 days' notice by email, and the change applies only from your next renewal; if you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect and are not charged the new price.
8.6 Other refunds. Apart from your rights under 8.3, 8.4 and the law, a payment for a period that has already been provided is not refunded. If we fail to provide a paid service you paid for, or we end it without your breach (10, 16.2), we refund the unused part. Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer.
9. Third-party services
Atlas Assistant depends on services we do not control. Depending on how you use it:
- Anthropic (the AI model): in server mode, as our processor under our account; in own-computer mode, under your own account.
- OpenAI, where offered, under your own account in own-computer mode.
- WhatsApp (Meta) and Telegram carry your messages. Messages sent through a Telegram bot are not end-to-end encrypted; WhatsApp handles messages under its own terms. Do not send through either anything you would not trust to it.
- Twilio (WhatsApp messages and phone calls) and ElevenLabs (voice notes and calls), as our processors for built-in voice, for accounts we approve personally; or ElevenLabs as your own provider, on any plan, if you connect your own key. For phone calls, ElevenLabs runs the conversation with a language model (currently Google's Gemini, hosted under ElevenLabs' own arrangements).
- Google, if you sign in with Google, and Google Cloud Speech-to-Text if it is ever switched on (the Privacy Policy will say first).
- Our hosting provider (Vultr, Tel Aviv).
- A payment processor once paid plans open, named at checkout.
- Anything you connect to your own assistant on your own computer.
We are not responsible for their availability, acts, omissions, prices or handling of your data, except where we act as their customer on your behalf and the law makes us responsible. Your use of services you choose yourself is governed by their terms. Details of who receives what are in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability, beta and changes to the service
Atlas Assistant is a new service, and parts of it are in beta. It is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that any message, reminder or approval request will be delivered. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice and refund any period you paid for and did not receive.
11. Our software and intellectual property
11.1 The service, the website, the connector software, the Atlas Assistant name and branding are ours or our licensors'. The connector is proprietary software, not open source; it is licensed under the licence file shipped with it, and these Terms.
11.2 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and run the connector on computers you control, solely to use Atlas Assistant. You may not redistribute or sublicense it, modify it for distribution, or use it to run or build a competing service, except where the law gives you a right we cannot exclude.
11.3 If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without obligation to you.
12. Your content
You keep all rights in your messages, files, notes and the output you receive. We claim none. You give us only the limited permission needed to run the service: to pass your messages between your chat app and your computer or the AI model, and, in server mode, to keep your recent conversation, your assistant's memory notes, a short note about you (self-note) and, if you switch it on, a journal, and recently shared files as the Privacy Policy describes (encrypted; the conversation is deleted 30 days after the chat's last message, and memory notes 30 days after they are saved unless you choose to keep them longer, as the Privacy Policy describes). In own-computer mode we do not store the content of your messages or files. We do not use your content to train any AI model, and we do not sell it. Our staff open stored content only as the Privacy Policy allows. You can allow us to keep your memory notes for more than 30 days, and withdraw that permission at any time on your dashboard; this is separate from agreeing to these Terms.
13. No warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Nothing said by us, by the website or by your assistant creates a warranty that is not written in these Terms.
14. Limits on our liability
14.1 To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for: (a) anything your Claude does or fails to do on your computer or in services connected to it, whether or not you approved the specific action; (b) your reliance on AI output; (c) loss of, damage to, or disclosure of data on your computer; (d) acts of anyone who used your phone, Telegram account, key or computer; (e) third-party services; or (f) any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business or opportunity. Paragraphs (a) to (e) do not apply to loss to the extent it was caused by our own negligence or by our failure to take reasonable measures to secure our server and software, for example if our server were compromised and used to send instructions to your computer.
14.2 To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims connected with Atlas Assistant is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) US$50. This limit does not apply to a consumer in the cases where the law does not allow it, including loss caused by our intent or gross negligence, and the matters in 14.3.
14.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law — including for fraud, for wilful misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
15. Your responsibility to us
If someone else brings a claim against us because you used the service unlawfully or instructed your assistant to harm their computer, account, data or rights, you will compensate us for the resulting damage and reasonable costs, only to the extent that you caused it, only for damage that is proved, and not in respect of anything we caused. This section does not apply to anything the law does not allow us to ask of a consumer.
16. Suspension and ending
16.1 You may stop at any time: disconnect your computer, run ella unpair, uninstall the connector and delete your account from the dashboard or by writing to [email protected].
16.2 We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your use endangers the service or other users, if we are legally required to, or if we stop providing the service. Where reasonable we tell you first, and tell you why. If we end a paid plan without your breach, we refund the unused part.
16.3 Sections 5, 6, 11–15 and 17 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
17. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring proceedings in a court that mandatory law makes available to you.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We post the new version here with a new date and version number. For a material change we notify you by email, in the dashboard or through the chat at least 7 days before it takes effect, or sooner where the law requires us to change. If you do not agree, you may stop using the service, close your account and, on a paid plan, cancel and be refunded the unused part before the change takes effect. We do not apply a change to a price or a material term to a period you have already paid for. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept it.
The 7-day notice applies only to changes that we notify after 1 December 2026. A change that we notified before that date, including the changes in version 1.5, takes effect on the date we gave when we notified it (for version 1.5: 28 November 2026).
19. General
If a part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to a successor of the service, and your rights will not be reduced by that. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Atlas Assistant. These Terms are written in English; if we provide a translation, the English version prevails unless mandatory law says otherwise.
